Hey there crafty people,
We had a great time online with forum members this past Sunday. We hosted the first Summer Camp one hour challenge, where participants were given a layout sketch and asked to complete a project in an hour and upload it to the gallery.
Jemma R.M., one of our very talented members has a gift for creating sketches and gave us an awesome design to work with.
Here are some of the layouts created by members
Jemma (sketch creator)
They all have their own unique look depending on what inspired the creator in Jemma’s original sketch. Awesome layouts ladies!
We hope you can join us for the next live one hour challenge on Sunday August, 18 2013.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
Are you up for a challenge?
Join us this Sunday, July 28th at 8:00 PM EDT for a fun one hour challenge and live chat.
You can find it all on the Scrapbook Nerd forum.
See you there!
Today we want to share some projects made by our fabulous members.
First we have a fun summer inspired card made by EricaRose. We really liked the subtle background, the cute surf boards and the twine.

This beautiful wedding card is made my ECEMom. We really like the way Paula layered the the flower for some great dimension and the texture in the background.

This cool card is made by Paper Candie. We were drawn to the great mix of colours, embellishments and the layering. This card just pops!

Hello bloggers, we have a special guest designer this month.
Hello, I’m Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan
I am a self confessed workaholic. So you may ask when do I have time to be artistic? Well anytime I am not working cause’ I am also a scrapaholic and need to be creative. One balances out the other and vice versa, if you know what I mean. I am a dual brain thinker, very analytical and logical by day, but creative and intuitive by night! I have a wonderful DH that supports my habit. I have no children of my own but have a plethara of kids in my life that my friends generously donate to my photography. I love to get creative whether it be through scrapbooking, photography or mixed media.
You can find more of Jennifer’s work in the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine and on her blog at Life Be Scrappy
Let’s take a look at Jennifer’e projects
Aren’t they just beautiful!
It’s really amazing that Jennifer was able to get such different looking projects from the same collection. We love the layering and the way she embellished the layouts, very creative. There is so much depth and texture on all three projects.
Really awesome Jennifer! Thank you for joining us this month.

It’s Camp Spirit Day over at the Scrapbook Nerd Summer Camp. To get it started here’s a fun camp song that will stick in your mind all day!
This is the song that never ends.
It just goes on and on my friends.
Some people started singing it not knowing what it was,
And they’ll continue singing it forever just because . . .
The challenge for the “Camp Spirit” Badge is banners, so fly them high, fly them low, just don’t ever let them go!
Go forth, be crafty!
AND have fun 🙂
