Happy Halloween everyone!
I couldn’t resist making a little project for today that I can display every October with the Crazy Dogs stamp set. I’ve told you before that I love this set, right?

Well the images in the Crazy Things stamp set make it very easy to create seasonal projects all year long. I started by watercolouring two of the dogs and some Halloween images, then cut some text paper to for the background. I’m working on a canvas board for today’s project.

I picked out some Distress Inks to create the background, a simple night sky.
fullsizeoutput_600dStarting with the grass, I used Peeled Paint for the first layer & Mowed Lawn as the second or shading colour.

Next came the sky. I started with Broken China and I will use it with each layer I add to help blend out the other colours.

Then I added some Faded Jeans and more Broken China.img_7071

The last two colours I used for the sky was Seedless Preserves and Black Shoot. After adding those I went back in with Broken China to help blend it out.

Next I took some water and sprayed the background a little to create some texture. I let the water sit for about 45 seconds then blotted up the water with paper towel. fullsizeoutput_6019
Next I used an old star stencil and some embossing paste at the top of the night sky. I let it dry throughly before glueing down the the dogs.fullsizeoutput_601c

Sunday card share #57

Sunday card share at

Hello and welcome to another card share.
Do you love die cut packs?…
I sure do. 🙂 Sometimes I like to buy the ephemera packs just for cardmaking and that is exactly what I did with the Pebbles Inc. Woodland Forrest pack.
Sunday Card share @ - Fall Card

The animals included in the ephemera pack are so cute, I couldn’t resist. I layered a few of the die cuts behind the fox and added the banner at the top. A very quick seasonal card and I
have a few more cards made with the cute critters.

Thank you for visiting the SN blog today.

Fall is definately here! Nevada (my dog and walking partner) and I have been out exploring the beautiful colours of the changing season. She loves the cooler weather and when possible I let her off leash to run and roll in the leaves. My projects this past week were created using the Simple Stories – Gather Together Collection a rich assortment of fall coloured papers, patterns, and embellishments.

Fall inspired candle holders. To make these quick and easy candle holders you will need 6″ x 12″ Washi Tape sheets, jars, and scissors, punches, die cut machine and/or dies.

Washi Tape 6 X 12

Measure the height and circumference of your jar . Choose a pattern with little to no detail and cut out your shape/s.

Next take the outline and slowly by peeling the background attach to your jar.

You now have a decorative candle holder, at this point you could add ribbon, twine, a charm etc. Make your own personal masterpiece!#3

Add candles and a few more decorated jars etc

These looked great on the Thanksgiving Table and followed us out to the living room for after dinner coffee.

Sunday card share #56

Sunday card share at
Hey there crafty friends,
What a great weekend we had, we were on-site with Scrap & Crop weekend retreats.
We met some new friends, saw some familiar faces and there a whole lot of memories documented.

My card share is late today but I hope this cute little guy makes you smile. I am crazy about this Crazy Dog stamp set, I will be using it a lot for Christmas cards this year too.
Sunday Card Share - Crazy Dogs card idea @ scrapbooknerd.comI really like to watercolour so that’s what I did for this little dog using some neocolor ll water pastels and hand cut it when I was finished. The papers are from the Fancy Pants Attwell 6×6 paper pad and I die cut a circle for my focal image.

When I spend more time on watercolouring, I tend to keep the card design simple so the attention says on the main image. Happy Sunday!

Mixed Media on Monday

Hi crafty peeps,
Today I’m sharing an art journal page. This page started with a stamp set and not much of a plan, just the idea to stamp the ‘washi strips’ at the bottom of the page.

Because I cover the pages before I started with gesso, the Distress Crayons were easy to blend with my fingers and also easy to wipe off through the stencil I used to crate those white circles at the bottom.

Using the same circle stencil with Distress Crayons to make the colourful circles at the stop of the page. I then used the circles stamps from the Don’t Forget to Fly stamp set to stamp over all of the circles. It kind of looks like the circles are floating off the bottom of the page and taking the colour with them.

This page came together quickly and does not have much bulk to it, I really like the way this page turned out. Thank you for visiting the SN blog today, I hope you got inspired.
See you next week!
