TUESDAY TUTORIAL: ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

Hi, Gisèle here with a card tutorial.

When working on a scrapbook LO or a card, think outside the box. Look at your scrappy materials and see if you can alter them by changing how it is given to you. Example: inking, hand or machine stitching, fussy cutting, making it 3D, using a punch, stamping, adding an embellishment to the item can change your whole perspective. Think of it as an opportunity to be a scrappy designer.

I am using the Simple Stories Vintage Blessings to create this card.

1- I have altered my card by choosing 2 cut apart cards. The heart one has been pierced ready for stitching and will be placed on the pink card. I will use foam on the back of the heart to give it a 3D dimension.

2- Adding some hand stitching to the heart and choosing a coordinating coloured floss.

3- Then, not stopping there, I took my Stampin’up bow punch and punched a bow using coordinating pattern paper to repeat the paper scheme.

4- Before calling it quits, I added an enamel dot to the bow in a coordinating colour.

5- All mounted and popped up for a 3D on the other pink cut apart card as I wanted a pink border to go with the heart.

6- Repeating the enamel dot from the bow as well helps the flow of the card. Also adding the sentiment and ribbon to the finish the card.

So my completed card changed a lot, by altering and embellishing the items that were in its original form.

I would love to see what you create, so please show us in our Facebook group.
Thanks for dropping by and have a great scrappy day. 🤓
