Creative Team Weekly Digest

Scrapbook Nerd Creative Team

The Team is back with some more creative inspiration for you today.
We’ve got some scrapbook pages, some holiday documenting, and a home decor projects too.

Let’s start with Mari’s December documenting album.

Mari's December Memories album

Working on a December album is an annual memory keeping project for Mari.
This 8 x 6 Echo Park album is perfect for this project. Any 8×6 album could be used for a December album like this one. The Simple Stories page protectors are perfect for creating the layouts. The Crate Paper Falala collection is the primary paper and embellishment line used in this album.

Mari has combined the Falala collection with other products from collections such as Pink Fresh Studio December Days as well as bits and pieces from her stash. This is a great way to document those memories made during a special time of year!

Love those insert pages Mari, awesome.

You can watch how Mari created these pages and more on her YouTube channel…

Next let’s see what Nathalie has been up to this week.
Wild and Free layout by Nathalie DeSousa

This page was created using the  1 Canoe 2, Creekside collection. The picture of Nathalie’s littles was blown up to fit the page, Nathalie sprinkled pieces from the collection on to the photo.

The star rub ons are added to create a trail detail in the corners of the picture and
the small tag at the top hides the journal of this page. Amazing photo, right?

Next up we have some home decor projects from Joy.
This first one is a simple framed piece Joy created for a friend. This project came together quickly with a little bit of preplanning about size and placement of the sweet Llama.

You can see all about this project in Joy’s Tuesday Tutorial here.

I think this next one is a new favourite, it doesn’t have any paper in it. The wood discs were bought a local garden centre and they were pre-stamped. So once Joy bought the glass jar, greenery, and the stones it was just a matter of assembly.

This home decoration is perfect to leave out all winter long and it’s a great look
for her Dad’s front porch.
The last project from this week is this pretty gold sprinkled title page for Joy’s 2018 Project Life album.

Christmas Countdown Day 13: December Daily

Paige @ scrapbooknerd.com

This year will be my third year doing the December Daily project. I really enjoy looking back at previous years and seeing the different traditions and events from year to year, and how my boys are growing. I find that it also helps to ground me in being present and slowing down enough to enjoy the season as December busy-ness descends.

For those who are not familiar with this project, it typically involves telling one story through photos and journaling for each day of December (either until the 25th or 31st). Here are some reflections from my 2015 album, and some of the things I liked most about my album.

  1. Album Cover:

  2. Decorative title page:

  3. Intentions:

  4. Full sized photos: I use a 6×8 album, and I really like the look of 6×8 photos.

  5. Out of pocket: though most of the album is in pockets, I really like breaking it up with back to back photos or cards outside of pockets.

  7. Blessings and Joys: On Day 10, I wrote ten blessings in my life on tags, and then created a pocket in which to house them. Then, on Day 15, I asked both of my children to write a list of things that bring them joy. I love having something in their writing (besides their Santa letters).
