Mixed media canvas project

mixed media Monday at scrapbooknerd.com

Hello Scrapbook Nerd friends,
I hope you had a nice Easter long weekend, I had a fun day with my family out in Port Elgin.
I’m already looking forward to the leftovers and turkey sandwiches. šŸ˜€

The mixed media share today is a 6×6 canvas board.
This canvas project has 3 layers; it starts with the script background, someĀ tissuestockĀ from Canvas Crop., some paint, and the final layer is the coffee cups & title. But First Coffee- mixed media canvas board projectIĀ like the grungy background and it really makes those cups pop off the page. The ‘table’ the cups are sitting on was created with the Ornate stencil and some umber paint. The cups were die-cut from the Atwell 6×6 paper pad and two of the cups have some light stenciling on them for some added interest. I added a hand drawn border before adhering the words, I think it helps contains things and gives it a finished look.

I hope you found some inspiration today. If you have any questions please post them in your comment. Happy crafting!

Project Reveal with Barb

Barb @ scrapbooknerd.com

Hello Everyone. Welcome to Friday and my Project Reveal Post for this month.

For this month, I’ve been working with a few different collections.

Project 1: Beautiful Poppies

This layout was part of my tutorial earlier this week, on how to print your own embellishments. You can find the tutorial HERE.

For this layout I used the beautiful Attwell Collection by Fancy Pants. I fell in love with it as soon as it came into the store and couldn’t wait to use it. I love the fun, bright colours of this collection. It really is a must-have for your summer photos.

Project 2: The Spirit Garden

While we were on vacation in Thunder Bay, Ontario, it was a real honour to sit through a First Nations demonstration and Smudging. It was so beautiful and so Spiritual. I really wanted to try and capture some of what I was feeling while I was taking these pictures.
I love this Kaiser Kraft Boho Dreams collection, in particular the Dream Catcher die cut paper. Since I wanted to keep the focus on the photos and the spirituality of it, I wanted to keep it simple. It was easy to do with the die cut paper. All I needed to do was add the feathers from the sticker sheet, and the nuvo crystal accents and I was done.

Project 3: Hiking Killbear

My third and fourth projects were done using the Pink Paislee Outfitters collection. I love this collection for all the outdoor adventures that we’ve had this summer. It’s a perfect mix of rugged, outdoor living, or just spending a day relaxing by a lake. There is just so many options with this collection!

Project 4: The Cabins

On this project I added in some embellishments from the My Mind’s Eye Happy Camper collection. I love all the embellishments of this collection and the rich, vibrant colours.

Thank you for checking out my posts this week. If you’re wanting to get those summer photos into your books, these are must-have collections!
