TAGS, TAGS, TAGS… WHAT TO DO WITH THEM ?

banner Card Making Crate Paper Design Team projects Easter general Inspiration Nerd Academy Scrapbooking tags Tips & Tutorials video tutorial

Hey scrappy nerds, Gisele here to talk about tags and what to do with them. I have several to show you and I hope you read until the very end as I have a special Easter banner video made with tags.

Tags are very versatile, you can use them in so many ways. I have lots examples and I know there are many more.  I am using mostly Crate Paper for my examples today.

The 1st tag:  add journaling on it.

2nd tag: add ephemera and even add a phrase or title. I also added some Nuvo drops in black.

3rd tag: it was embossed, then inked and added a die cut to it.

In this next picture; 1st tag: I have added some Nuvo drops to it added ribbon and tied it with twine.

2nd tag: the tag came with all the holes so I backed it with patterned paper.

3rd tag: this one is also matted or backed and I added ribbon at the bottom and at the top, the top ribbon is stapled. Also stamped on this one using Crate Paper Main Squeeze.

My next 3 tags: 1st:  mixed media on it with sequins and a stapled ribbon. For all you Tim Holtz or Vicki Boutin fans I am not so well verse as they are, but you get the idea that you can alter your tag.

2nd tag:add washi, I have 2 washi tapes , one is repeated so it frames those lovely birds which is  a Simple Stories washi.

3rd: make your tag out of a photo, I have use a punch from my stash and  added some twine to it.

Next: 1st I have added some pompom ribbon and stapled some white twine.

2nd: added some Heidi Swapp gold colour shine and some gold thread from my stash.

These next examples: 1st, I added the tag on a card.

2nd: stapled ribbon to my tag which was a cut apart one from the 12×12 patterned sheets.

I also use tags on my LOs for layering and other. You can see 3 tags in this example; they are all yellow, to keep uniformity in colour and have the visual triangle on your page, I added twine to all three but one is in a bow for more texture. So they are layered in the back just peeking out.

I started these next tags with a banner in mind. The bunnies are cut from the Silhouette (and they are mounted to give them height), the letters are jillibean, pompom ribbon(which I stapled) from my stash, Amy Tangerine felt pompom and the papers are Crate Paper Good Vibes. The complete banner will be next, you will see I decided to add more to these tags.

I have used some Shimelle True Stories from AC to make my tags. This makes all the tags more cohesive.  Some pompom ribbon from my stash  is added and of course the Good Vibes collection from Crate Paper. Also added some tissue paper at the bottom to add more texture to my project. The bunnies have been cut from my Silhouette  and they all have an Amy Tangerine felt pompom as their tail. The enamel dots are from Bella Blvd and I used a punch in my stash to give the bunnies a bow tie. The  alphas are jillibean. Easter conjures colours of spring and I thought this collection foot the bill. Here are some close-ups and a short video of my Easter(Paques) banner. Hope you like it.

OOPSIES, small piece of tissue paper fell on first bunny’s head. Did not notice it when taking pictures and video. Sorry about that.
