DESIGN TEAM WEEKLY PROJECTS

general

Hey folks, it’s Gisele here with this week’s design team projects. The weather is getting cooler here in New Brunswick and I cannot wait for the colourful leaves and everything pumpkin LOL. But lets get back to reality shall we. We have some amazing work to show you. This week our theme was “summer favourites”, so here we go.

Sunday our talented sketch team member Milena had this sketch to share and her page take on her own sketch. This week’s sketch features 10 2×3 photos. Perfect for people, like me, who enjoy getting many photos on a page. However, you can substitute any of the photos for journal cards etc. as I did if you don’t have 10 photos. I only used 7 in my example.

So on Tuesday, I did a tutorial on a mini album using Simple Stories, Hello Summer. You can find that post here: http://scrapbooknerd.com/blog/cut-apart-cards-lets-use-them/

This is the front and back cover:

Now Natalie is up with this gorgeous page. I so love that word cut file and how it is backed.

Nathalie created this project about her baby’s love for the living room on the hot Summer Days. She used a Paige Evans cut file to create the large title of the page, and backed it using Amy Tangerine’s Shine On collection. The background paper comes from Simple Stories High Style paper pad. All the little clusters created around the layout are a mix of Simple Stories Good Vibes collection and Amy Tangerine’s Shine On collection ( this collection is gorgeous for every ocassion).

Our talented Mari has this one to share with you. I love how she used the Doodlebug collection, fun.

For Summer Favorites week, Mari chose to work with the bright and fun “Hello” collection from Doodlebug Designs! This collection is so vibrant; the color palette is perfect for a summer layout. Mari used a 6×6 paper as a mat for the photo, journaling and title for the layout. The Odds & Ends die cut packs and the Doodle-Pop stickers have been used to embellish the layout as well as some of the Sprinkles stickers. The “Hello” collection pack includes tons of patterned papers and stickers to create multiple crafty projects! Mari used a JustNick cut file on this project as well, backing the cut file with 6×6 papers from “Hello”.

This is my creation for this week. In this LO, I created a page to highlight my oldest grandniece’s birthday. I screened shot the Instagram photo from her mom and enlarged the picture. Using jillibean “Too Cool for School” collection. Even though these papers were designed more or less for a boy and school, I used it in a completely different intention: a birthday. I cut some of the cut apart cards to make them fit with the page. Notice the the dog which ressembles her own dog. It was created with the stamps from the collection and used the frame from the stickers. The flag is also from the stamps and to tie in the colours, a little green sharpie to colour in the tie of the dog and the word on flag. Some enamel dots from my stash and Pink Fresh alphas and heart puffy stickers. Navy colour shine from Heidi Swapp to complete the page.

Well there you go folks, another week in the books. Hope we have inspired you and please check in the store as new scrappy goodies are coming in. Fall and Christmas oh my!
