Hello Nerds!
Welcome back to another Scrapbook Nerd Academy!
When I saw the We R Memory Keepers Stitch Happy at CHA in January, I was so excited!! I couldn’t wait until it hit the market and I could get my hands on it. When they came in, I was dying because it sat there for a while, just looking at me, but I couldn’t find any time to sit and play with it. Well, the past couple of weeks I’ve made some time and have been having lots of fun with it.
The Stitch Happy is a sewing machine that has been designed for us paper crafters. It sews through paper and other mixed media type projects.
I knew that on my first project with this machine, I wanted to create a stitched shape right onto my background paper. So, here’s a look at how it all looked when I was finished:
I used the Stitch Happy Sewing Machine to stitch some trees. For this project I have used the One Canoe Two Creekside Collection, which I’m in love with!!
The first thing I did was to search some tree images in the silhouette store. Once I found ones that matched what I was looking for, I resized them and then cut them out. I then positioned them onto my background page where I was wanting them.
I traced them with my pencil, and them removed the tree die cuts from the page.
Using the We R Memory Keepers mint green baker’s twine, I sewed over all my pencil lines with the machine.
Once I was done, I had to go back and erase some of the showing pencil lines. (it looks like I missed some of them so I will need to go back and touch it up.)
Once that was done, all I needed to do was put my page together.
I really love how it looks and how it adds so much texture to my page. I can’t wait to create more projects with my machine!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out our tutorial today. I hope you have a creative week!
