Make Your Own Prize Ribbons
Design Team projects Halloween Nerd Academy
Hi everyone! This week, I (Stephanie) will be sharing some fun Halloween-inspired projects to get you into the trick ‘o treating spirit! I’m kicking things off today with a really quick and easy tutorial on how to make your own prize ribbons. Prize ribbons have popped up in several collections over the last year or two – Maggie Holmes and Elizabeth Kartchner are big fans, just to name a few. They’re an easy embellishment to make & a perfect way to spruce up a card, gift bag or layout. Let’s get started!
Step One: You’ll need to cut out several circles in an assortment of sizes. You can use dies, punches or your Silhouette machine to do this. For added variety, include some circles with scalloped edges.
Step Two: Using 3D foam adhesive, begin layering the circles on top of one another.
Step Three: Cut a long strip of patterned paper, then slice in half. Using scissors, cut out a triangle in the centre of the strip to create peaked edges. Adhere to the back of your circle.
Step Four – add a sentiment to the middle of your ribbon.
And that’s it! Easy peasy, right? I hope today’s post has inspired you to pull out your Halloween papers and create a prize ribbon or two of your own.
