Mixed Media on Monday

This mixed media on Monday is connected to our online crop Let Your Creativity Bloom.

I created this canvas with some very basic supplies for the Put a Flower on it challenge.
I covered the blank canvas with some old book paper, then using some plain tissue paper I covered the book paper. The tissue paper was purposefully wrinkled when I was glueing it down to add lots of texture.

Once it was dry I created the sky and grass with acrylic paints, then added the flowers with stencils. I like using makeup sponges to apply paint over the stencils.

Still using acrylic paint I used different tones of green and blue to add
interest in the background. The last few steps to finishing off this canvas project were to add some stamping with some archival ink and using a sharpie pen (the paint must be
completely dry before starting this step) I defined the flowers and some of the
stems with some very sketchy pen lines.
