Barb had a lot of fun working with the Fancy Pants Nautical collection.
The Fancy Pants Nautical Collection is a collection that works perfectly for all your summer photos, whether it be photos of the beach, summer picnics, or travel. It’s full of fun, bright colours with a great nautical twist.
For her first layout, Barb added a little bit of texture using a little bit of texture effect, which can be found in the Scrapbook Nerd store. In order to achieve a wavy, watering effect, she spread some texture effect onto two corners of the page, and then took a comb and ran it through creating a wavy pattern. Fun!
For her next layout, Barb decided to add texture to her title. She tells us, “I really love the wood grain paper in this line and had to use it for my background.
I didn’t need to us a lot of embellishments on this page since silhouetted a photo of a sign and used that as my main embellishment.
For added texture, I cut a template on my silhouette and used it, along with texture effect, to make my title. Once it was dry, I added some colour to it.
Her third project shows off more of the Fancy Pants Nautical Collection, and the fun picnic and food icons in this line. Keeping with the texture theme, she used a Tim Holtz template along with the Texture Effect, once again.
“I added texture on this layout using Texture Effect. I used the Tim Holtz Rays Layering Stencil. Once the texture paste was dry I stippled on yellow ink. I prefer adding my colour afterwards as it gives the texture paste a lot more dimension with the white bits showing through.”
For her final project, Barb shows off just how fun, and colourful this collection is. It’s the perfect collection for all those beach layouts!
Using one of the photo frames that are part of the collection, she made a cute shaker box as an embellishment for her page. You can see the video tutorial on how she made the shaker box HERE.
