Nerd Girl Projects

Design Team projects general Inspiration

Sarah Moore for Scrapbook Nerd.com

Design Team Member, Sarah, had fun working with the Fancy Pants As You Wish Collection, and created 4 gorgeous projects with it.

On her first project, Sarah  shows off several of the beautiful papers  in this collection and then sets it off with a hand-stitched feather.sarahjune3

“I love adding texture in different ways to my layouts and stitching is a great way to do so! It takes a little bit of time, but it’s a labor of love and in my opinion, it’s worth it! I used an Amy Tangerine stitching template I got from the store for the feather I stitched. The templates are nice because it leaves the guess work out of where to stitch. You can also draw what you’d like to stitch with a pencil on your layout, then use a piercing tool to poke your holes, and then erase the lines. I also cut out a heart from a 3×4 card and added glossy accents to it to give it that enamel look. Then I backed it with some cardstock to finish off my handmade embellishment!”

Ice Cream Anyone?

On her second project, Sarah used the diamond patterned paper from the As You Wish Collection to create this fun layout.

“I wanted to create some woven texture on this layout. I used the pattern on the background paper and cut slits in the diamond shape to weave my paper through. I love the texture it gives to the design!”

Fun Dip

“One of my favourite ways to add some texture is to layer, layer and layer! So for this layout I layered my papers with my corrugated cardstock and a few little goodies, then before I adhered it all and stuck it to my layout I added my very first layer…mist…lots of gooey, drippy mist! I pretty much just poured it on and sprayed some water on it then tipped my paper before I dried it with my heat gun. It gave it that wonderful drippy look that I thought was perfect for the “fun dip” page “sarahjune4

“I love all the little tags that come in this kit! I’m a sucker for anything with a camera on it, so these ones definitely made me happy! I cut out a small picture of  one of the frames from the packaging to use to frame my adorable little camera tag! add a few little wood veneer stars and call it a day! “
