The Perfect Dress
Crate Paper Wonder collection general Inspiration Nerd Academy Scrapbooking Tips & Tutorials tutorial
Hello!
Cathy here , I am a brand new design team member with Scrapbooknerd and this is my first blog post !
This is all so new to me, I was so excited to receive my first kit of pretty papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper “WONDER” Collection.
I decided to try something new that I had recently seen on a technique video using stamps and heat embossing. Of course I did not have a stamp to suit, so I figured I could improvise a bit and use my Silhouette and a sketch pen. I am so pleased with the result. I hope you enjoy my little tutorial and it inspires you to try something new too!
This embellishment was a snap to whip up. Using a Silhouette dress sketch file, a silhouette blue sketch pen, and vellum.
As you can see I tested the colour on the vellum and I got so excited I forgot to take a picture of just the inked outline of the dress oops rookie mistake! In the next photo you can see the inked outline with the distress ink already applied.
I stamped the Distress Ink to the craft sheet and misted with water and used a water brush to apply to the back side of the cut out dress, this gave the dress a opaque or stained glass look.
I cut an outline of the dress in white cardstock to put behind so that the patterned papers did not show through or alter the colour of the dress. when placed on my layout.
Well that was easy!
Happy Crafting!
See you on the forum!
