general Nerd Academy Tips & Tutorials
This month, the Scrapbook Nerd Design Team is working with layers, along with the Scrapbook Nerd product. Adding layers to your projects doesn’t have to mean adding a lot of bulk, but it does add a lot of visual interest and dimension. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see all the different ways the Nerd Girls use layers on their projects.
Using the We R Memory Keepers Indian Summer collection, Michelle shows us how she created a gorgeous Fall project.
I was so excited that this month’s challenge is layers. Perfect challenge for me. Well actually it’s no challenge at all because I layer all the time!
Today I have a quick tutorial using a scallop punch to add layering on your project.
Here is the punch I choose but any will do.
Cut out 5″-6″ strips of paper and punch out the border of each. I did 14 strips but you can do more or less. Layer the strips randomly on your background paper and stick them down.
I then scattered some sequins randomly on the strips, letting some of them go out a bit further. I used these ones:
Then I also added some wood pieces to add more dimension to my LO!
To finish I added some layered papers behind my photo and added a title.
