APRIL 6TH DESIGN TEAM PROJECTS: Spring is in the air !

Hey scrappy nerds, Gisele here with a look at what the design team has been working on. Lots to take in, even an exclusive new cut file! So let’s jump in shall we?

First up is Mari with her TN(Travellers Notebook). Mari created this TN layout in a Simple Stories insert/TN. She has used the Pink Paislee “Pick-me-up” collection to create the layout. Mixing some texture paste with Distress Oxide ink is a great way to personalize the paste to the color you need. This “colorized” paste has been applied to the layout using a palette knife and TCW “Botanical Dream” stencil. There is a YouTube process video for this layout.

Now Nathalie has this Lo for you using a heart cut file.  Nathalie used Paige Evans Pick Me up collection to bring color to each of the hearts in the cut out used in this page (from the Silhouette Store). The background was created using Bazzill embossed cardstock (her stash) and some Vicki Boutin art crayons to match the color of each of the hearts in the cut out.

Our talented Nathalie has produced this LO using the cut file. So yummy and spring time.

Next up is me with Simple Stories “Bliss”. I used some coordinating cardstock in lilac and soft green, some jute, a mini clothes pin, my tiny attacher by Tim Holtz (one of my fav tools), and some Pink Fresh puffy sticker hearts as well as puffy alphas by Pink Fresh. I used a 5×7 black and white picture as this picture is circa 1950(a picture of my mom we did not know existed until this past summer). Of course the added ephemera is from the collection also.

A better view of the jute here for some added texture. I wrapped it around the picture after I double matted it with 2 coloured cardstocks. Added the tiny clothespin a friend gave me to the bow, just adds that extra something. You also see where I stapled the puffy heart. Some ephemera is uplifted with foam to give more of a 3D effect.

Th left hand corner of the LO, you can see more ephemera and another puffy heart. The puffies and the alphas are Pink Fresh. They come in many colours, check out the store. I also added some Nuvo Crystals in Crushed Grape from my stash in some of the flowers. Not sure if you noticed but the mats behind the picture are the reverse of the back of LO.
