Getting The Most From A Card Kit: Part 1.
This Simple Stories “Into The Wild” card kit is supposed to make 8 cards… well I turned that into 15 cards!
I am sharing 9 cards in this part. Stay tuned for Part 2 for the rest.
Here’s the contents of the kit- it even includes 8 folded card bases!
Here’s everything all punched-out. There is no cutting required.
For my first 8 cards I followed the instructions to create the backgrounds. The 9th (Toucan) has some papers from Simple Stories “Safe Travels” 6x8 pad. Of course, the cards weren’t complete until I added glitter from a shimmer pen, Nuvo drops and enamel dots.
These cards follow the instructions pretty closely.
Here, I switched out the sentiments with my own stamped ones on die cut circles. I also added some enamel dots to the elephant card and a few more ephemeral pieces to the koala card.
The lion was placed on the background intended for some giraffes. Stamped sentiments and more ephemera were added to each card.
For this last card, I used paper that I strategically cut out from the kit backgrounds. Any piece that was going to be covered by layers I trimmed off. This was a little more time consuming, but it allowed me to stretch my supplies.
And when I needed more paper I brought in the yellow from another collection from Simple Stories.
Stay tune for more of these fun cards with Karen :D
