Combining Collections | Mari Clarke
Welcome to the blog today! It’s creative team member Mari Clarke here, and I wanted to share a fun technique with you where I combined a Crate Paper collection with Vicki Boutin Mixed Media products!
For this 12×12 layout, I wanted to document my son’s trip home this summer. The Crate Paper “Here and There” collection is perfect for what I wanted to do! The collection is more on the masculine side as far as the images and colors, so I combined the teals and yellows from the collection with two of the art crayons from Vicki’s line.
I put down some Vicki Boutin Gesso on some white card stock and let that dry. Once dry, I applied some of the teal art crayon by activating the crayon with water on some plastic. Then I brushed the color on with a flat brush. I then applied more art crayon in teal and yellow, but this time I dry brushed it on with the Vicki Boutin stencil brushes and some of the stencils.
I have used a variety of embellishments from the “Here and There” collection to add all of the details. The die cut pack, envelopes, rub-ons and stickers from the collection have all been used in the different areas. I love the calendar frame around the photo; this emphasizes the time frame of the visit that I am documenting here. All of the journaling is hidden on the tag above the photo. To see the full process for this layout, hop over to my YouTube channel to see the details.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today!
xx Mari
