June DT Reveal – Journey from Crate
Good morning Nerds!
I can’t believe it’s June already…end of the school year…beginning of the good summer weather and of course Father’s Day! I thought I would pay tribute to some of the men in my life by scrapping them! Love how perfect the Journey line from Crate is for some more manly projects!!
Here’s a peek at a few of the projects I made this month…seriously LOVE this line!! I thought that for my first reveal I would show how easy it is to use your dies to create a bold background so instead of using the patterned papers from this collection, I decided to use cardstock, the Journey embellies and this DELICIOUS die for the Tim Holtz Scribbles set…YUM!!
I was really excited to use it with this old photo of my daughters’s dad jumping at Big AYR…He makes it look soooo easy! There is no denying that he is an excellent rider and both of our girls definitely take after him with their natural riding abilities…SOAR…
here’s a close up…crazy eh??!!
This is a little tribute to my Uncle and Godfather…He’s always been a big influence in my life and when I found this pic of him and his daughter Tonya I knew the Journey collection from Crate would be the perfect way to scrap it!! And FYI…Doe is the nickname I gave my cousin Tonya when she was just a little wee bean. Her sweet eyes reminded me of a baby deer…so trusting and bright…
I used the Decor Ampersand from MFT….LOVE it! Along with a couple of fonts from them as well (Emmitt and By the Letter Lowercase) YUM!
I was totally inspired by another layout I saw on the web and wanted to soften the paper a little similar to the way she had so I used vellum…although the moment I set it down outside to photograph it, five GIANT raindrops plopped right on it!! I guess Mother Nature felt it needed a little extra “something”…LOL!!
I had some strips and scraps left over so I thought I would give a starburst background a go! I know this technique has been around for a while but I’ve never tried it…until now…and I am completely addicted!! I loved how the journey papers from Crate really added interest with their fun patterns! Perfect for some “boy” layouts!
Here is Steve again…this time doing the valley jump at the club track…he’s so smooth and comfortable in the air that even though it’s BIG AIR he makes it look effortless…yep! It REALLY ticks me off!! LOL!!
Here’s a close up…
Since I’ve been having so much fun with this line, I thought I would challenge myself to do something a little messy and outside of my comfort zone…eeeks!! SO stressful!! I’ve been seeing lots of angles and edges in scrapping lately so I thought I would give ‘er a go!!
This is my sweet little cousin Isabella. She lives around the world in Prague and I’ve never met her but her mom sent me these beautiful pictures of her…isn’t she cute? I love pics of baby bits!!
Give this line from Crate a try…I can’t wait to see where your “Journey” takes you!
Thanks for letting me share!
