Today I have a simple way to use your inks and stencils to achieve a watercolour effect on your layouts or cards. I will be using the Jillibean Soup – Hardy Hodge Podge Collection for this tutorial.

To start gather together some ink pads, paper towels, craft mat, a stencil, and a water bottle mister.

Stamp ink pads on stencil , when happy with amount, colour, and placement , add the water spray directly to the ink and stencil.

Place the ink side down on your paper, and lightly press down on the stencil to adhere the ink.

Set aside to air dry now is a good time to clean your stencil, use a baby wipe or simply place under the tap and run water till clean.

When dry add your photo, papers, embellishments etc.

This technique looks more like watercolour than stamped ink and gives you a less defined image.

If you are looking for a new way to use a stencil give this a try !
