general Michelle Gallant Nerd Academy Tips & Tutorials
Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a little tutorial using some layering and stitching techniques. I’m using the Teresa Collins Life Emporium collection today. One of my favorite collections this year!
First I started with a triangle punch (love my triangles)
After I punched out some triangles (I used 5), I put the corner of the triangle back in the punch to punch out a little bit to make it look more like an arrow.
And here is what they look like when done
The next thing I did was cut out a bunch of random sized rectangles to add some layering behind my photo. I find this works better if you don’t over think it. Just cut some out and don’t worry about the sizes. Then stagger them behind your photo and stick them down!
So now I’m ready for my stitching. This is the template I used. You can find it in the store. It’s pretty awesome!
Just choose where you want your title, punch out the holes in the template (I just use a needle) and then stitch in the title.
You can finish off your title by adding other alphas if you want.
Then you’re at the fun part! The embellishments! I popped up some words and added them to the side of my photo.
And I just love the cork and vellum embellishments in this collection.
Then I added some punched out hearts. And here is the finished LO!
