Creating a Striped Background With Distress Oxides
Hey Friends, welcome to the blog today! I have a fun technique to share with you today to create an easy background for a layout!
The stripes on the background of the layout were created using tape. I taped off the strips using painter tape (you could just use washi) and then with a distress ink tool and Distress Oxide Inks, I added the color.
I added some sewing with white thread to the side of the strips. The colors I chose were based on the color palette from Crate Paper Wild Heart. I fussy cut the sunglasses from the paper pad from the collection and added those as embellishments along the left vertical of the photo.
I added some embellishments from Wild Heart to a cluster on the right of the photo. The stripes behind the photo add a simple, but powerful detail to the base of the layout.
Try this on a project you are working on…it is super easy and fun to do!
